Best Restaurants Near the Eiffel Tower
If you’re visiting Paris you’ll no doubt want to see the majestic Eiffel Tower. It’s certainly worth a visit and given its location in a touristy yet high-end neighbourhood, you might be wondering where and where not to eat. This list has the best restaurants near the Eiffel Tower and is updated regularly. Restaurants listed are no particular order.
Bistrot des Fables
Formerly Café Lignac and before that, Café Constant, this old Parisian brasserie is now called the Bistrot des Fables and despite the changes, it’s still very good. The first bistro that I ever ate at when I moved to Paris in 2016, it’s a great spot to eat classic French food near the Eiffel Tower.
The lower room (there’s 2 floors) hasn’t changed a bit and retains a beautiful old Parisian charm with its original zinc bar. It’s an intimate bistro and perfect for a romantic lunch or dinner.
The menu is classic French through and through. Starters include the classic French onion soup which has a great level of caramelised onion flavour and a healthy amount of gratinéed cheese on top. I tried frogs legs during my last visit and boy were they good. Crispy outside with plenty of juicy meat on top of a garlicky, creamy sauce – incredible and a dish that’s actually quite hard to find in the capital.
Vol au Vent (a sort of puff pastry pie) with veal sweetbreads and chicken is superb as is their fillet steak with peppercorn sauce.

La Fontaine de Mars
Famous for once receiving Michelle and Barack Obama, La Fontaine de Mars is popular for good reason. Serving quality Parisian bistro in a traditional setting, you won’t go wrong here. The services is slick and is very tourist friendly which is not surprising given its location.
On the menu are French classics such as sole meunière, côte de veau and roasted chicken breast with morel mushrooms. It’s classic yet modern with velvety, high-end sauces served with their meat dishes.
The accompaniments are not forgotten; the fries are crispy and their pomme purée is buttery and smooth. Finally, their wine list is very good and there’s a sommelier on hand to help you pick you something that you’ll enjoy.

Les Cocottes
Les Cocottes is a counter/stool only bistro serving refined French classics in small casserole dishes (Cocottes). The starters are classy with lobster bisque and langoustine raviolis on the menu. When in Rome (or Paris), why not try the classic Escargots? I.e snails in garlic butter. The mains are on the more expensive side but worth the price. The cuisson on the fish and the meat is very good and the accompanying sauces are very well prepared. The last bonus? They’re open all day long, all week.

L’Ami Jean
A classic French bistro in Paris, L’Ami Jean is a short walk from the Eiffel Tower and a great option for a romantic dinner. The small, intimate dining area might seem rather plain but worry not, the food is anything but. The menu offers a diverse selection of meat and fish (unfortunately it is not a vegetarian friendly restaurant) served with seasonal vegetables. The menu might seem like the food is rustic, it is not. Well executed sauces cover expertly cooked meat and micro-herbs garnish the top. Yes it might be on the pricier side but you won’t be disappointed.

Les Petites Mains
On the other side of the River Seine, near the Palais de Tokyo, is an outdoor terrasse, Les Petites Mains. Only open during the warmer months, it’s a great spot to eat a casual lunch or dinner with a fantastic view across to the Eiffel Tower. This year’s edition is headed up by a trio of French chefs who’ve focused the menu towards Mediterranean inspired food. There’s BBQ grilled octopus, sirloin steak spiced with chipotle and swordfish cooked mi-cuit. The food is good but is rather pricy – I’d advise going for the formules during weekday lunches where you can have 3 courses for €35.

Jules Verne
If you’re visiting the Eiffel Tower and want a special meal, why not on eat on it? The Jules Verne is located on the 2nd floor of the tower and currently has a 1 Michelin Star. Not for fussy eaters, they offer a 5 to 7 course tasting menu featuring seafood, caviar, truffle, fish and poultry. They have three different dining rooms depending on what view you would like across the city. Pricey but perfect for a celebratory meal during your trip.
