Looking for the best restaurants in Cassis? We’ve got you covered. Our guide has the best spots to check out in the beautiful old town of Cassis in the South of France. If you’re visiting the idyllic town this summer then keep this article bookmarked!
The old fishing village is as pretty as Saint-Tropez but is lesser known that it’s flashy sister town. It’s a lot more similar to Marseille in vibe but has the stunning calques to discover and of course the town itself.
Our Favourite Restaurants in Cassis
I’ve been lucky enough to visit the south of France every year for 8 years since I’ve been living in France. Cassis is a town we always visit being just an hour’s drive from where I stay near Toulon. This list contains my favourite restaurants in the beautiful fishing village of Cassis. Restaurants are in no particular order.
Note: most of the restaurants close over the colder months so make sure to call in advance if you’re visiting off-season. You’ll also need to reserve in advance for most restaurants during peak season.
La Vieille Auberge
La Vieille Auberge is one of the few quay side restaurants on the port that is genuinely really good. Going strong since 1978, this little family run restaurant is a seafood gem. With an exceptional menu featuring some really well sourced (and usually local) ingredients, it’s usually really difficult to decide on what to get! Their fish and seafood is the highlight for me with a focus on the freshness of the products. Huge gambas grilled and prepared simply are epic and their sardines are superb. For the meat eaters, they’ve got a great selection of grilled meat including beef fillet and duck breast. Finally, their quay side terrace has great views over the port.

La Brasserie du Corton
Sister restaurant to the 3* Michelin La Villa Madie, La Brasserie du Corton is much more affordable and is extremely good. About a 12 minute walk from the town centre, the restaurant is well worth the small detour from the town. Serving up Mediterranean inspired dishes they offer a 3 course menu for. €60 per person. It is on the more expensive side but the food is superb with quality, local ingredients. Beef tartare with oysters is a killer starter and their local fish is cooked to precision. Like many restaurants here, their terrace has fantastic views out across the bay.

La Presqu’île
On the other side of Cassis, towards the Calanques, lies La Presqu’île. A quality restaurant featured in the Michelin guide, this is another gem of a dining spot with lots of fine dining touches. They only offer set menus starting at €52 (€74 in the evening) per person but it’s well worth it. Fillets of locally fished John Dory are served with a stunning ginger-vodka sauce and their provençal lamb is epic. It’s just the food that is incredible – so are the views. You’ll get to eat looking over the stunning entrance to the calanque.

Le Comptoir de la Plage
Le Comptoir de la Plage is a great, simple beach side restaurant next to the plage de la Grande Mer de Cassis. Don’t expect higher end fine dining here, it’s simple beach food that hits the spot with a great view. There’s a mix of classics such as linguine with clams, grilled sirloin steak and a cheeseburger with some great homemade fries.
