Where to Stay in Menton
Menton, known of the pearl of France, is a beautiful seaside town on the French riviera. Nestled between the decadent Principality of Monaco and the Italian border, it’s historically been a destination for the Jetset. Unknown to many, the town has incredible botanical gardens, a beautiful old town and many great eating spots. There’s also some cracking hotels and this guide lists our favourite spots to stay.
Best Western – Prince de Galles
The Best Western Prince de Galles hotel is my favourite hotel to stay at in Menton. Located on the Promenade du Soleil and about about a 20 minute walk to the old town, it’s ideally locate. The 4* hotel is very modern with fantastic, newly renovated rooms. I’d advise to go for the Seaview rooms with a terrace as you can incredible views out to the sea. Nuxe toiletries a great bonus in the very nice bathroom. There’s limited onsite parking and I’d advise to arrive early to try and get a spot.
Hôtel De Londres
The Hôtel De Londres is an excellent budget option and very well located. This 3* boutique hotel is beautiful with modern, Provençal decor throughout. The rooms are modern and very well sound proofed. There’s a bonus of the hotel’s very lovely bar and garden where you can grab a drink and relax. It’s located just opposite a public beach (the Plage du Borrigo) and is about a 15 minute walk from the old town.
Ibis Styles Menton Centre
If you’d prefer to be in the very centre of the town and stay on a budget then the 3* Ibis Styles is a solid choice. Nestled in the backstreets in the old town and a stones through away from the Basilica, it’s perfectly located. The rooms, whilst not particularly luxurious, are perfectly functional and well designed. Breakfast is usually included though dependant on room booked.
Hôtel Vacances Bleues Royal Westminster
The Vacanes Bleues Royal Westminster hotel is another cracking hotel on the Promenade du Soleil. This 3* hotel is on the old town’s side of the promenade and you can reach the old town in under 5 minutes walking. The rooms are spacious (most being over 30m2) and are relatively modern. Like others on the promenade, I’d really recommend booking a Seaview room as it really adds so much. There’s a restaurant within the hotel but if you want to go out into the town to eat, check out our guide to the best restaurants in Menton.
