Victor
Victor is located a 10 minute walk away from the Vieux Port and is a cracking craft beer bar and bistro. Close by to L’Ecaillier featured in our best restaurants Marseille guide, it’s a super spot for a pint or two before dinner or discovering the local area.
They have a huge selection of bottled and canned beers from breweries across France and Europe. On tap they’ve got a limited selection of 6 brews which rotate fairly regularly. If you’re peckish they’ve also got fresh pizza on offer and charcuterie and cheese boards.

Beer District
A stones throw away from the Vieux Port, Beer District is an incredible beer bar. With a mind boggling 30 brews on tap, it’s genuinely hard for a beer lover like myself to not go back during my visits to Marseille.
Their beer menu is divided into sections including lager, IPAs, acidic beer, porters, Belgian speciality beer and experimental brews. They also have a great tapas food menu which seems to change daily. Prices are on the higher side for Marseille but that said, the beer makes it very much worth it. Finally they do have a large selection of European canned and bottle beers for take-away or to drink at the bar.

Bière Academy
The Bière Academy is a fantastic beer bar and beer making workshop which, like Beer District, is literally a road away from the old port. They have around 9 beers from microbreweries on tap which rotate frequently as well as a vast array of bottled and canned beers.
During the summer their large outdoor terrace is a great place to grab a pint and enjoy the warm summer time evenings. If you’re hungry they’ve got cheese platters as well as pizzas on offer. If you’re around for a while they run beer making workshops where you can learn to brew your own beer.

La Voie Maltée
A beer bar for the purists, La Voie Maltée is a small, intimate pub like craft beer bar located to the East of the Vieux Port. There’s 10 regularly changing craft beers from microbreweries from across France on tap.
The staff are friendly, chatty and know a lot about the breweries that provide their ale. There’s limited space and it does get very busy with locals so be warned that you might not get a seat. They also have some cracking home made tapas on offer.

Pulp
Pulp is a bar located at the far end of the very lively Honoré-d’Estienne-d’Orves square. At the bar there’s around 12 beers on tap but don’t expect any micro-brewery IPAs here – they mainly serve more mainstream beers from the US, UK and Belgium. Nothing to scoff at but perhaps not a bar for the purists. Their outdoor terrace is huge with plenty of seating and they serve up some decent tapas including sweet potato fries and charcuterie.
