Staying in Porto Vecchio wanting to know what are best restaurants in the beautiful town? Look no further with my guide to the best eating spots. The stunning island of Corsica is absolutely incredible and I was lucky enough to explore the south east side for a week. We stayed in a small village about a 10 minute drive and managed to explore the coastline by boat and in the evenings, a lot of the very good restaurants!
Where to Eat Well in Porto Vecchio
I spent a week in Porto Vecchio and I was sure to do my research on where to eat. Locals, French foodie friends gave me tips and I’d managed to try a lot of them. Here’s my round up of the 5 best restaurants to try in Porto Vecchio. Restaurants are in no particular order.
Le Hyannis Port
The first restaurant we stumbled upon was Le Hyannis Port which is a few minutes from the central marina in Porto Vecchio. With incredible views across the bay, it’s an awesome spot for a romantic dinner. We ate there twice and managed to get waterside seating which was really nice. In the evening they’ve also got a small bar section that’s even closer to the water so you can have a cocktail before you eat.
The food is solid with some good cookery on show. Don’t expect super refined, foodie dishes here – it’s solid beach club style food. Their signature John Dory dish is excellent and the fillets were cooked to precision. On the meat side, they do an excellent beef fillet with a red wine jus.

U Santa Marina
If you’re wanting something more refined then I’d really recommend U Sant Marina. They earned 1 Michelin Star in 2018 with their awesome tasting menus celebrating the best of Corsican produce. The placement is incredible with stunning views across the bay of Santa Giulia. If you’re visiting in the summer then you’ll no doubt be eating outside on their terrace. It really is a special location and perfect for a romantic dinner!
The food is fantastic and worthy of a Michelin Star. We took their 6 course tasting menu with a wine pairing. I would say it was probably the best meal we had out in Corsica with some excellent sauces and precision cookery on show. One of the stand out dishes was locally caught John Dory with a rich seafood jus and local vegetables. A confit, pressed and seared pork was also incredible with a fantastic sauce and textures of Roscoff onion.

Da Mare
Da Mare was a great lunch time restaurant / beach club that overlooks the Plage de la Folaca. Around a 15 minute drive from Porto Vecchio, it’s easy to get to via car and you’ll have fantastic views across a beautiful bay. The restaurant section is fully outside and is only open in season so avoid during the colder months!
The food at Da Mare is classic beach club cuisine and the kind of food you want to be eating next to the beach. There’s plenty of fresh fish which is served raw for starters (crudo, tartare and ceviche). For mains there was a lovely looking John Dory and wild Sea Bass when we went but I opted for a well cooked chunk of ribeye steak.

A Chabraka
A Chabraka was the restaurant that everyone recommended to us when we arrived in Porto-Vecchio. It’s a family style of restaurant that’s been open since 1987 and boy is it popular with the French tourists and locals! When we arrived it was jam packed with local families and the car park was so full one of the members of staff parked it for us (they don’t usually do valeting parking!).
The restaurant is mainly outside and but is completely covered with a huge roof section. The service is super friendly (just like most people from the south of Corsica) and efficient. We started with a planche of mixed local charcuterie from the island. They have a large wood fired pizza list but we went for a risotto and a ribeye steak – both well cooked with some delicious garnishes. A final mention has to go to their wine list as they have some fantastic local bottles that are worth trying.

La Table de Mina
La Table de Mina is a great fine dining restaurant within the lovely 5* Les Bergeries de Palombaggia hotel. Located around the headland to the east of Porto Vecchio, you can get there via car in about 20 minutes. The dining space is outside and nearby the pool with provides incredible views of the coast down to the sea.
There’s an a la carte option but also a 6 course tasting menu which I’d recommend taking. The food focuses on the produce of the island and include some really well cooked seafood and meat. Wild, local prawns are cooked to precision and served with an awesome, thick seafood jus which is spiked with a bit of XO sauce. Lamb is given the Mediterranean treatment with olives and seasonal vegetables and finished off with a great lamb sauce – delicious.
