There are plenty of great English and Irish pubs in Paris but I won’t lie, the best aren’t easy to find. But fear not, I’ve spent years trying them out and I’ve found some gems in the city serving really good beer and food and showing live sport.
I’ve been living in Paris for 8 years and my guide features the best pubs in Paris that I personally love. They’ve got great beer, friendly ambiance and some great food. Pubs are in no particular order. I update this list frequently so be sure to bookmark it!

The Moose
The Moose pub is a fantastic Canadian sports pub in the 6th arrondissement near the Saint Germain des Prés area.
Super cosy, intimate and friendly, it’s my go to pub if I’m on the left bank. It’s the perfect spot for a pint of IPA and some pub snack in front of a game.
With over 10 TVs on the walls in the pub and plenty of tables, it’s the place to watch golf, football (soccer), NBA, NFL, F1 and tennis. Note for Brits there’s no cricket shown here.
They’ve got a large beef selection including lager, IPA, NEIPA, Belgian wheat ale and Guinness. They have a limited in-house creation cocktail menu and some very good bottles of natural wine.
Hungry? You’re in for a treat. They do some great hot wings (with sauces ranging from BBQ to Habanero) and have an idea menu dedicated to poutine. There’s also Onion rings, jalapeño poppers, chicken tenders and nachos – yum. It’s genuinely a rarity to have a great pub with actually great, proper pub food.

The Cambridge Public House
The Cambridge Public House had to make this list. It’s, admittedly, really a “high-end” pub (maybe even bar) that serve some some incredible craft-cocktails with, contrastingly, some propa’ English gastro-pub food.
It’s small, moody and in the evenings, dimly lit – pure cocktail bar right? Well there’s also a huge screen to watch matches and they’ve got Guinness, lager and a locally brewed craft IPA on tap. Ok yes, it’s a bit confusing.
Prices are on the higher side with the average cocktail price coming in at around €14 and pints are all €10.
Their in-house cocktails are awesome, fun and play with your palate. They use sous-vide infusions combined with the best spirits to create some very memorable drinks. Feeling peckish? Try their sausage roll. Might seem odd with a cocktail but just like the bar, it just works.

The Bowler
One of the few English pubs in Paris which actually feels like an authentic pub. There’s wood panelling, photos of the pub cricket team and even a plaque commemorating the opening by Queen Elizabeth (ok this didn’t happen but there is a plaque there!).
It’s a great place to watch sports and it packs out during the big games. Come during the World Cup or Euros and you’ll feel like you’re in the UK.
They’ve got a decent beer selection with plenty of French lagers (including one humorously named Brexit Blonde), ales, stouts and IPAs.
The food is typical pub food with onion rings, chicken nuggets and burgers being served up all day. Prices are decent give its location next to the Champs Elysées.

The Pub
The aptly named The Pub is a small intimate English pub in the Marais. Opened in 2023, it’s a new pub nestled in a small side street close to the Place des Vosges.
It is small but it’s extremely friendly and popular with expats and locals. They’ve got sport (mainly football and rugby) on the TV with most major games being shown. Worth mentioning that it’s also a Tottenham Hotspurs fan pub!
The drinks menu is small with a great selection of French lager, pale ale and IPA as well as Guinness and cider on tap. There’s also a large selection of 0% beers for those who want to be reasonable.
They also have frequent open mic and quiz nights – check out their Instagram page for dates.

Le Petit Saint-Germain
Le Petit Saint-Germain is a cracker of a real French style pub. It’s small (hence the name), intimate and really fun. It’s been around for a long time and I used to go there a lot when I lived in the 6th.
Located on the pub street in the Saint Germain des Prés area, rue Princess, it’s a great place to start or pop-by if you’re on a pub crawl.
There’s a couple of tables and plenty of standing room around their original zinc bar. The drinks? There’s Brewdog’s Punk IPA on tap as well as the incredibly strong Belgian La Chouffe. If you’re hungry they’ve got small planches of saucisson and cheese.
It’s also a great place, if you can get a seat, to watch rugby or football. There’s two big TVs on each wall so regardless where you are, you’ll be able to see a screen.

Frog & Princess
The Frog & Princess is one of several Frog pubs in Paris but for me, it’s the best of the lot. Located on the popular Rue Princess in the 6th arrondissement, it’s ultra popular with locals and is definitely more of a French pub with English roots.
Unlike the other pubs in this guide, the Frog group brew their own beer and honestly, it’s not bad at all. They have a huge selection of brews with IPAs, pale ales, stouts and lagers.
The Frog & Princess is great fun and on weekends turns into more of a club than a pub with DJs playing until late. It’s a great option if you want to have a night out in the Saint Germain des Prés area of the city.
Their food is great too – it’s typical American pub food. Burgers, loaded fries, nachos all done justice (and not in a weird French-interpretation-of-American-food way!).
