Our guide lists our favourite kitchen supply stores and cooking shops in the great city of Paris. Whether you’re looking for a small baking item or a new copper pan, our list has the top spots to check out during your visit. Stores are listed in no particular order.
The majority of the best kitchen supply stores in Paris are located near Les Halles – around the rue Montmartre.
E.Dehillerin
Established in 1820, E.Dehillerin is one of the oldest kitchen and cooking supply stores in Paris. Located on the west side of Les Halles, the historic cooking supply store is for me, the must visit shop in Paris. It’s also where a lot of the best restaurants in Paris buy their equipment!
The rustic, old fashioned store has 2 levels and retains many of its yesteryear design features. The top floor includes a beautiful array of copper saucepans as well as stainless steel and carbon steel cookware. There’s a lot of serious kit for professionals including €100 chinois and massive ladles but you’ll also find sensible non-stick pans and domestic kitchen sieves. Towards the area where you pay you’ll find E.Dehillerin’s own brand kitchen and steak knives which make excellent gifts and souvenirs. On the lower section you’ll find huge stock pots, more pans, cast iron kitchenware from brands like Staub and baking goods.
Note that each item has a reference code on it (not a price) so you’ll need to remember the code and check a catalogue of prices that placed next to the cashier. It can be slightly confusing but the staff are friendly and speak English!

A. Simon
A. Simon is my go to cooking store for general kitchen supplies. Originally started in 1880 for hotels and restaurants, they’ve been going strong ever since and now have a strong general public client base. Located next to the Etienne Marcel metro stop and close to line 3, it’s very well located.
A big strong point for A. Simon is their wide tableware offering. There’s professional level cutlery, plates, bowls and glasses on offer even to the general public and you don’t need to buy in bulk. In the middle of the store, there is some great bar equipment for those cocktail and wine enthusiasts. Further in the back there’s a superb selection of accessories, Mauviel (a very good French cookware brand) pans and pots, DeBuyer carbon steel pans and cast iron cookware. For professionals there’s a large range of takeaway containers and GN pans.

Mora
If you’re really into baking then Mora is the kitchen supply store for you. When you walk in, it may not seem like the biggest store but there are quite a few side rooms stocking everything from pans to baking ware.
On the right, you’ll pass across another building’s hallway into a side room where you can find a dazzling array of baking goods. Moulds, pastes, food colouring, stands, decoration accessories – it’s heaven for those who are into patisserie. Move back into the main store and there’s even more baking goods – holds, pastry brushes, bench scrapers – it’s incredible. In the far back rooms they’ve got a limited selection of other cooking equipment – graters, tongs, mise en place equipment, mixing bowls, whisk, pans end more.

Trouble Obsessionnel Culinaire
TOC – Trouble Obsessionnel Culinaire which is less than a minute’s walk from both Mora and A. Simon is another cracking kitchen supply shop. More on the higher end with a great selection of Japanese knives, BBQs (they stock the BigGreenEgg) and other high tech equipment – it’s definitely worth checking out. The shop has 3 levels although each floor is relatively small.
They stock a great selection of knives for those wanting to buy either a Japanese or German (Wusthof etc) chef’s knife. You’ll also find a large array of different branded cookware from big brands like Le Cruset, Staub and DeBuyer. Finally for professionals, on the 3rd floor, you’ll find a great selection of tableware (including disposable takeout containers).
